SPARTAAAAAA!!!

So yesterday (Friday) I went to a Zumba class for the first time in FOREVER!! I had forgotten how mind and body intensive that class can be, especially when "Aunt Flow" is visiting. I was so worn out by the end of the class and I am pretty sore today. But, I look at the bright side.. I burnt a TON of calories!!

On a side note, I found an AWESOME website for people who want to push themselves physically and mentally. It is called the SPARTAN RACE!! Something that I LOVE about this website, they offer a military discounted Flat Rate entry fee for all the races. How cool is that?? I would definitely like to try the Spartan Sprint when I get back to the States. I think it would be AWESOME!

They have 4 levels of races:

1. The Spartan Sprint ~ 3 mile Mud RunEndurance Trail Race w/ 10+ Obstacles

2. The SUPER Spartan ~ 8 mile Mud Run Endurance Trail Racew/ 15+ Obstacles

3. The Spartan Beast ~ 10-12 mile Obstacle Race from Hell (DIRECT QUOTE from website)

4. The Spartan "Death Race"~ 48 HOUR Obstacle/Endurance/Trail Race WITH Mental/Physical Challenges!! 90% of people who enter the race DO NOT FINISH!!

Their motto is as follows:
A Spartan pushes their mind and body to their limits.
A Spartan masters their emotions.
A Spartan learns continuously.
A Spartan gives generously.
A Spartan leads.
A Spartan stands up for what they believe in, no matter the cost.
A Spartan knows their flaws as well as they know their strengths.
A Spartan proves themselves through actions, not words.
A Spartan lives every day as if it were their last.
I think everyone (including myself) needs to follow these rules DAILY!!

I am packing up my workout gear for later. I want to do some HEAVY LIFTING tonight! I also printed out the Dancer's Body Workout (by Heather Morris of Glee ~ <3 that show!!), a Kettlebell and a couple of other workouts from Women's Heath. Can't wait to go to the gym tonight!

Workout wise, I feel as though I am getting stronger. My pants are fitting REALLY loose, even though the numbers on the scale are not going down very much. The inches are what count to me!

Anyhooooo.. I will need to go take a nap before work tonight so that I am rested.

Have a great day!!

I LOVE YOGA!

OMGosh!! I had forgotten how much I LOVE to do Yoga of all kinds (except Bikram.. BARF.. HOT YOGA is NOT my thing)!
The 1630 Relaxation Yoga class with Chieko at Fleet Rec was AWESOME! I know now that I really need to get back into taking classes with her because I have lost my flexibility for some of the poses. YES, I know am a HYPER SUPER EXTRA flexible person, but even I had some trouble with a couple poses.

I want to give a BIG HUG & KISS to the Hubby for picking up Mini-me while I was at the class!! He got off work 1/2 way through the class and then called me to say he was in the parking garage when I was done.

I am excited to see the June schedule for Fitness Classes! The BodyFit (Barbell) instructor said that they are going to do 2, possibly 3, classes in June! YAY!!
Today's workout is going to be the ChaLEAN EXTREME Fit Test and then Burn Basics and then so Yoga Booty Ballet for stretching!

Back to work tomorrow.. hope I can get away to do the Step & Sculpt class, but I doubt it since it is 90 minutes long. I am DEFINITELY going to the 1745-1845 Zumba, though.. even if I have to bug the guys I work with about ALL DAY LONG!!

I wonder if the classes are cancelled for Monday (Memorial Day). I am pretty sure 1 of the gyms will be closed since it is a Federal Holiday. Guess I will have to call the Navy Fitness office to find out!

Have a GREAT, PRODUCTIVE & HEALTHY day everyone!!

Hugs!

GREEEEAT WORKOUT!!

So I got off work at about 0845 this morning and RUSHED over to the gym. I wanted to make it in time for the 0900 BodyFit class (FREE.. <3 that word!!) that takes place every Saturday in May! BodyFit is a knock-off of the Les Mills BodyPump Class. And..IT WAS AWESOME!! OMGaaah!! I am nice and sore now.. but it is a GOOD sore. (Speaking of Les Mills.. I wish we could get BodyFlow/BodyBalance (Yoga/Tai Chi/Pilates combo) or Sh'Bam (Cardio Dance) here on base. BF/BB looks AMAZING and Sh'Bam looks SO FUN!

I don't know whyI let myself forget how much I like to workout during those times when I am feeling lazy and skip a couple days. Working out gives me SUCH a rush of GOOD feelings and energy. Aaaaah.. LOL!

Only 6 more weeks of my STUPID A$$ CRAZY schedule and then I will be back to a Mon-Fri day job. WOOT WOOT!! I CANNOT WAIT!! I will finally be able to workout at the gym twice a day again like I did BEFORE I was on these UNHEALTHY & COMPLETELY NOT CONDUSIVE TO SLEEP 12hr "daywalking" / "nightstalker" shifts. Sooo excited!! WEEEEEEEEE!!

On a sad note, I missed mini-me's DayCare B-day celebration yesterday (Fri). ( ; _ ; ) The daycare called (& WOKE ME UP) to remind me about it 2hrs before it was due to take place! Hubby couldn't go because he was at work and I absolutely NEED to sleep before work, so I couldn't go either. That is ANOTHER reason I am so happy to be going back to 8hr days. I can stop missing these little yet IMPORTANT things/milestones.

Otherwise, I had a good day. Took a nice nap (about 6hrs) and then helped Hubby clean out the office of boxes and random crap (3 BAGS OF TRASH) before hanging out for a little while before I headed to work.

Going to talk a walk later tonight to keep myself awake and alert. And for now, I am going to check my fave fitmess websites for a workout I can do here at work that needs no weights.

Hugs!

MOTIVATION !

Mother's Day Present to MYSELF!!

Sunday May 8th was a GREAT day! I woke up early with the mini-me and we took the jogging stroller on an almost three (YES.. 3) hour run/jog/walk from our house to Kinugasa JR Station and back. 9440 steps!! AND 4 miles!! WOW!!
During the roundtrip, we stopped at a couple playgrounds and ran around like crazy girls chasing pigeons and each other!
That day was the start on my journey. I have forgiven myself and everyone else for everything that has been keeping me from accomplishing my weight loss goal. I vow to myself to strength train and do cardio to lose inches and pounds to bring myself to a happy and healthy BMI!!

One of my downfalls though is that I am prone to what I like to call "Workout A.D.D".  LOL!! I get bored and lose motivation if I do the same type of video/workout over and over again. Soooo.. I use different websites, blogs, DVDs, YouTube Videos, etc.

Some of my favorite Fitness Magazine websites to find workouts are Shape, Women's Health (WH), and Self. Some of my fave videos from trainers who have posted on YouTube include: http://www.youtube.com/user/ChrisZFit & http://www.youtube.com/user/kbellqueen

I also LOVE Beachbody Workouts and Supplements!! I have ChaLEAN Extreme, P90X, TurboFire, Yoga Booty Ballet and SHAKEOLOGY! That drink is so tasty!
And right now, for a limited time, you can buy Shakeology & Slim in 6 TOGETHER and get 25% off Slim in 6!! SLIM & SHAKE SPECIAL!!

Some of the classes that I find to be SUPER are Zumba, Kickboxing, Relaxation and Power Yoga, Water Aerobics and BodyFit.

Yesterday I did an AWESOMELY great WH workout.. I am FEELING IT today!! I called the Barre Workout, because it is modeled after workouts that ballerinas do when they are holding onto the barre for support. You don't move very much, but WOW!!

Anyhooo... I am off to take a nap before work! I need to be rested so I can workout TONIGHT!!
